Famous Israeli pop singer, songwriter, and TV personality, Svika Pick, passed away on August 14, 2022, in Ramat Hasharon, Israel, at the age of 72.

His cause of death was not stated.

Pick had reportedly suffered a stroke back in 2018 which slurred his speech and movement.

Born on October 3, 1949, in Wrocław, Poland, Pick became an international sensation, following his win at the Eurovision Song Contest.

Pick, whose other name is “the Maestro”, had written several No. 1 hits songs. Some of his pop songs were written as far back as 1970.

He became even more famous when his daughter, Daniella Pick, married American director Quentin Tarantino.

Svika Pick Career

In 1998, Pick wrote the song “Diva” which won the Eurovision Song Contest. He went ahead to write several other songs for the show’s contestants.

In 2003 he wrote the song “Hasta la Vista”, for Oleksandr Ponomaryov, a Ukrainian Eurovision contestant. He later became a judge on the show.

On the movie scene, Pick appeared in the docu-reality series HaMaestro that aired on Bip, and the musical drama series Tamid Oto Chalom. His songs were used as soundtracks for the films.
