National Security Ministry clarified that Benlord Ababio, the suspect arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a military officer at Kasoa Millennium City in the Central Region, is not associated with the ministry.

In a statement released on May 1, the Ministry stated that Benlord Ababio is not a staff member of the National Security Ministry, refuting claims circulating on social media.
“The public is therefore urged to disregard any news item that portrays the suspect as a staff of the Ministry of National Security,” the statement emphasized.

The police confirmed the arrest of the suspect on May 1, following the fatal shooting incident on April 30, which claimed the life of a military officer.
According to the police statement, the deceased was shot around 4:20 pm on April 30, and the suspect, Benlord Ababio, is alleged to have committed the crime. The victim sustained gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
The incident occurred during a dispute over land at Millennium City in Kasoa, where the deceased and his companions confronted individuals working on a disputed piece of land.
Despite attempts to resolve the dispute at the police station, tensions escalated, leading to the fatal shooting.
