Edmonton Oilers’ goaltender Stuart Skinner was born on November 1, 1998 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada to parents Sam Skinner and Sue Skinner. Stuart is the youngest of nine children born to his parents.

Interestingly, all children of the Skinners have first names that begin with the letter “S”.

Stuart’s father is a graduate of Riverside High School and an ice hockey enthusiast. He played a very crucial role in his son’s ice hockey journey.

Skinner senior coached his youngest son in spring hockey with the help of the other elder children. Reports say that Stuart’s parents prioritized their nine kids’ extracurricular interests in their Edmonton home.
