Strictly is set to sign its youngest-ever partnered pro – with South African Cameron Lombard lined up to replace Aljaz Skorjanec on the next series.

The 21-year-old from Cape Town joined the BBC1 dance contest’s troupe last year but wasn’t paired with a celebrity.
But after impressing bosses behind the scenes of the hit series and live tour, Cameron is set to fill Aljaz’s shoes.

A Strictly source said: “Cameron is a big character, as well as a hugely talented dancer. He was disappointed not to get a partner for the last series but 2022 is set to be his year.

“He’s already a favorite with hardcore Strictly fans who have seen him on tour, and bosses are confident mainstream audiences will follow suit.”
Cameron was a finalist on South Africa’s Got Talent ten years ago and has set up his own dance school for youngsters.
He’s good pals with fellow South African pro-Johannes Radebe, who also had to wait one season before being given his first celebrity partner – Corrie star Catherine Tyldesley in 2019.
Cameron’s arrival in the troupe has helped bring the average age even lower as it follows Nikita Kuzmin being partnered with Tilly Ramsay last year when he was just 23 years old.
