In 1976, Steven Spielberg met actress Amy Irving when she auditioned for Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
Despite the fact that she was too young for the part, she began dating Spielberg and eventually moved into his “bachelor funky” house. They called it quits in 1979.
They rekindled their love in 1984 and married in November 1985. Max, their son, was born on June 13, that year.
The couple divorced in 1989 and agreed to live close to each other in order to share custody of their son.
