Police believe he had been there for at least a week because his body was so decomposed.  He had tested positive for COVID-19 not long before his death

Hoffenberg rose to prominence in the 1990s with his scandal-plagued Towers Financial Corp, which he co-founded with Epstein and used to defraud $460 million from 200 victims.

He was imprisoned for 18 years for the crimes and emerged a changed man who befriended Epstein’s victims and joined their fight against the late paedophile.

Hoffenberg spent his final days alone in an apartment in Derby, Connecticut. Maria Farmer, the first woman to report Epstein to the police, called the cops and asked them to check on Hoffenberg.
