Tim Wakefield, whose full name is Timothy Stephen Wakefield, is a former Major League Baseball (MLB) pitcher from the United States. He played 19 seasons in MLB.

Wakefield was born on August 2nd, 1966 in Melbourne, Florida. He attended Eau Gallie High School for his formal education before continuing his studies at Florida Tech. Wakefield distinguished himself as an outstanding first baseman while attending Florida Tech, earning the Panthers’ team MVP honors in both his sophomore and junior seasons.
Notably, he accomplished extraordinary exploits by setting single-season records with 22 home runs and established a lifetime home run record of 40. Wakefield’s number 3 jersey was retired by the university in 2006 as a result of his exceptional services.

Steve was a morning shift employee of the Harris Corporation, an electronics firm for which he designed circuits, and a competitive softball player.
