The Stephen Lawrence Centre is both a memorial and a place of inspiration in honor of Stephen Lawrence. He was the architectural student murdered in 1993. The Centre is located in Brookmill Road, Lewisham and it was opened in 2007.

The Centre has a small river to the east and a neighborhood park to the south. It is located between two types of housing, the traditional terraced houses to the west and a line of higher apartment buildings to the east.
The Centre also works hand in hand with partners in the area to tackle underachievement and to increase young people’s motivation to embrace education and overcome barriers to fulfillment.

Who Can Visit?
The center is a place for community learning and social research to inspire young people. It opens from Monday to Friday at 6 pm at 39 Brookmill Road, Lewisham.

Sir David Adjaye is a Ghanaian-British architect. He is known for designing many notable buildings around the world, including the National Museum of Africa America History and Culture in Washington, DC.
