Close allies and frequent collaborators, Tai Duncan and Dave Brown, reflected on their time with Stephen, noting, “Throughout our professional journey, Stephen’s exuberant approach to filmmaking and his love for life was a constant source of inspiration.”
The duo added, “His passing is deeply shocking, especially considering how he valiantly overcame a heart attack during a 2018 triathlon. Stephen epitomized the essence of living life to the fullest, leaving an indelible mark on friends and colleagues alike. His absence will be profoundly felt, but his enduring spirit and camaraderie will forever be cherished.”
Residing in Redondo Beach, Emery was known for his love for the outdoors and his unwavering support for the San Francisco Giants, the 49ers, and the Grateful Dead.
Childhood friend, Shawn Gillis, fondly reminisced, “Stephen’s passion for filmmaking was evident even as a child, often seen making films in our backyard. His journey in Hollywood was destined. A beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, he served as the connecting thread among us and motivated everyone to pursue their passions.”
