Stephen Emery, a renowned film executive and producer associated with renowned personalities like Clint Eastwood, Anna Kendrick, Liam Hemsworth, Aaron Eckhart, and Liam Neeson, has passed away at 46.

Emery’s death was confirmed by Big Swell Entertainment CEO Andy Horwitz after a gym session in Los Angeles on Saturday. Emery had recently joined the company, which was established last October.

Prior to this, he held a significant position at The Solution Entertainment Group as the head of film & TV since 2016, playing a pivotal role in curating, developing, and producing both film and television projects.

His impressive filmography includes co-executive producing the Netflix film “Wheelman” (2017) with Frank Grillo under director Jeremy Rush. He also took on executive producer roles in “Killerman” (2019) with Hemsworth and directed by Malik Bader; “Line of Duty” (2019) led by Eckhart and directed by Steven C. Miller; “Honest Thief” (2020) featuring Neeson and directed by Mark Williams; and the forthcoming film “Werewolves”, which reunites him with director Steven C. Miller and actor Frank Grillo.

A San Francisco native, Emery acquired a mass communication degree with a focus on film & television from the University of San Diego. Notably, he was also a varsity football player during his time at the university.

His professional journey began at CAA, dedicating three years in their motion picture talent department. He subsequently moved on to esteemed companies like DreamWorks and Focus Features.
