Star Wars Rebels first aired in 2014 and lasted four seasons before ending in 2018. The programme begins fourteen years after the events of Revenge of the Sith and focuses on a group of rebels who execute covert missions against the Galactic Empire.

While the series centred primarily on new characters, it also featured characters from The Clone Wars such as Ahsoka Tano, Captain Rex, and Saw Gerrera. Princess Leia and Lando Calrissian, two familiar faces from the Original Trilogy, also crossed paths with the crew.

Star Wars Rebels was not renewed for a new season because Dave Filoni the director and showrunner indicated that he has no intentions to bring Star Wars Rebels back.
He believes he was able to tell a complete story with that series. While Filoni effectively ruled out a fifth season of Star Wars Rebels, fans might expect to see some of the series’ remaining characters in other projects.
