Solange’s mother Celestine Beyoncé Knowles-Lawson Beyonce is an American businesswoman, fashion designer, and philanthropist known for establishing the brands, House of Deréon and Miss Tina by Tina Knowles.
Celestine Beyoncé Knowles-Lawson is of African-American and Louisiana Creole heritage. Knowles was raised Catholic. She is a direct descendant of Acadian leader Joseph Broussard and French military officer Jean-Vincent d’Abbadie de Saint-Castin.

In 1980, Celestine Beyoncé Knowles-Lawson married Mathew Knowles, a Xerox salesman who managed Destiny’s Child. The pair share two children: Beyoncé and Solange.
Mathew Knowles is an American record executive, businessman and university lecturer. Celestine Beyoncé Knowles-Lawson and Matthew later separated. Their divorce was finalized in November 2011.
At 16, Solange released her first studio album Solo Star (2002) and appeared in the films Johnson Family Vacation (2004) and Bring It On: All or Nothing (2006).
Solange’s second studio album, Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams (2008), reached number nine on the US Billboard 200 and received positive reviews from critics.
