Slava Medvedenko is a Ukrainian politician and former basketball player for the LA Lakers and the Atlanta Hawks.

He was born on April 4, 1979, in Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic.

Slava’s playing career as a power forward lasted for 10 years between 1997 and 2007.

He wore the jersey number 14 and 3.

He had quit basketball to kickstart a political career in Ukraine.

He became an electoral for the Kyiv City Council of the party Voice in the 2020 Kyiv local election. Unfortunately, the party was only able to win 9 seats.

Slava joined the Los Angeles Lakers in 2000 with great shooting skills.

He made his breakthrough during the 2003–04 season with his scoring and rebounding averages.

He later sustained a knee injury which kept him out of the game for a while and after then, he underwent a lower back surgery, making him to miss almost the entire 2006 season.

He received a waiver on health grounds and upon recovery was signed by the Atlanta Hawks in December 2006, for a contract worth $600,000. He played with the Hawks for the rest of the season.

He had recorded an average of 5.3 points, 2.8 rebounds, 0.5 assists, and 0.2 blocks in seven seasons, six with the Lakers and the last with the Atlanta Hawks.

Slava has been married since to film producer, Svetlana Anufrieva and together they have three children.
