Popular Irish singer, Sinéad O’Connor has been reported dead. According to a family statement released through RTE, she died on July 26, 2023, however, no cause of death has been announced.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sinéad. Her family and friends are devastated and have requested privacy at this very difficult time,” the statement read.

Born on December 8, 1966, Sinéad O’Connor released her debut album dubbed The Lion and the Cobra in 1987 and charted internationally. Her second studio album, I Do Not Want What I Haven’t Got was also released in 1990. The album became her biggest success, selling over seven million copies worldwide.
Its lead single Nothing Compares 2 U, written by pop star Prince, was also named No. 1 world single in 1990 by Billboard Music Award. She was known for several other songs including This Is the Day, This Is a Rebel Song, Drink Before the War, I Want Your, The Emperor’s New Clothes, 8 Good Reasons, and more.
