The 86-year-old multibillionaire media mogul has recently experienced many health setbacks and was just released from the hospital.

The foreign minister and second-in-command of Berlusconi’s Forza Italia party, Antonio Tajani, stated that Berlusconi was awake and reachable.

“He has been admitted to intensive care because a problem caused by an infection has not been resolved, but he is speaking,” Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, a longtime ally of Berlusconi, told reporters in Brussels.

Before joining politics, Berlusconi amassed wealth from his television networks and underwent heart surgery in 2016. He has also battled prostate cancer.

After catching COVID-19 in 2020, he has been often hospitalized to the hospital over the past few of years.

When Italy drew near a debt crisis like to that in Greece, Berlusconi announced his resignation as prime minister for the last in 2011.
