Shonka Dukureh Death: How Did Shonka Dukureh Die?

Elvis actress, Shonka Dukureh, was found lying dead in her apartment in Nashville on Thursday, July 21, 2022. She was aged 44.

The Metro Nashville Police who found the body of the Blues singer, said investigations are ongoing to determine her cause of death.

Shonka had been living with her two young children before her demise.

Her children had found her unresponsive and had ran out to call for help.

Shonka who not long ago performed the song “Vegas” with Doja Cat, also starred as Big Mama Thornton in Baz Luhrmann’s “Elvis”.

Shonka had her debut album in the works and sh had titled it “The Lady Sings the Blues”, which was inspired by her work in “Elvis.”

“The project is a tribute to the blues music genre in celebration of those fierce unsung pioneering artists and musicians who paved the way for the rock ‘n’ roll music revolution”, Shonka had said.

Where Is Shonka Dukureh From?

Shonka hails from Charlotte, North Carolina.

She had attended Fisk University, where she graduated from the theater department.

She also has a master’s degree from Trevecca Nazarene University.

She has toured with international artists such as Jamie Liddell and The Royal Pharaohs, and had worked with the likes of Nick Cave, Mike Farris, and Christopher Roberts.
