Shohei Ohtani, the reigning Los Angeles Angels MVP, is set to become a free agent after the 2023 season, and there have been rumours of a possible trade.

An Ohtani trade remains “extremely unlikely,” however, there are speculations that The Angels would wait until after a Juan Soto trade, and then any team interested in Ohtani would have to outbid whatever the Nationals got for Soto
Ohtani was asked about his future with the Angels, who have team control through next season.

Ohtani, on the other hand, didn’t say yes or no: “Regardless of where I’m playing, I want to give it my all and try to win the ballgame in front of me,” Ohtani said through an interpreter on Thursday, July 28.
“Right now, I’m with the Angels.” And I appreciate everything they’ve done. The team is fantastic. My teammates are fantastic. I’m an Angel right now, and that’s all I can think about.
If Soto stays with the Angels for the remainder of the season, he will almost certainly stay with them until free agency. His market value will never be higher than it is now.
