Shirley Bassey along Vera Lynn are earliest favourite singers which is denigrated to the female entertainers that preceded them. But these embody the sentiment of the post war. Although I never saw Shirley on stage till later. Vera I mostly remember from films and variety for the troops. While when I saw Shirley I didn’t the realise she had a natural in my opinion a natural bent in comedic Timing, which she could carry off with great aplomb. My onl regret was that I had the opportunity of see her in person.
