Sheryl Sandberg Husband: Who Was Dave Goldberg?

Dave Goldberg was the husband of Sheryl Sandberg. Goldberg married Sheryl Sandberg in 2004. The couple lived in Menlo Park, California, with their two children.

David Bruce Goldberg was an American businessman and management consultant. He was the CEO of SurveyMonkey and the founder of LAUNCH Media.

After graduating from college, Goldberg worked for Bain & Company for two years. He intended to go to law school but instead worked for Capitol Records as the director of marketing strategy and new business development.

He started LAUNCH Media in 1994 and oversaw its 2001 acquisition by Yahoo Inc. In 2007, he left Yahoo to join Benchmark Capital. In 2009, he joined SurveyMonkey.

Goldberg died unexpectedly on May 1, 2015, while vacationing with Sandberg at a luxury beach-front villa near the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in Punta Mita, Mexico; he was pronounced dead at a hospital in Nuevo Vallarta.

Goldberg died after falling off a treadmill while exercising at a gym and suffering brain trauma and blood loss. Sandberg later stated that her husband died as a result of an arrhythmia induced by untreated coronary artery disease, not from a treadmill fall.
