Reyes, who first dated Papini in 2006 and then reconnected with her in December 2015, was advised by Sherri that her husband Keith was abusive and that she needed to flee.
Papini was found wandering along a highway near Woodside, California, three weeks later, and claimed to officers she had been kidnapped by two Hispanic women. She’d been branded on one shoulder, her beautiful blonde hair had been cut short, and she’d fractured her nose.

Between 2017 and 2021, Papini was charged with providing false statements to a law enforcement officer, mail fraud, and fraudulently claiming more than $30,000 from California’s Victim Compensation programme.
