Rakhmonov’s professional career began in October 2014, when he defeated Adam Tsurov in the first round of M-1 Challenge 52.
Shavkat Rakhmonov currently competes in the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s Welterweight division (UFC). Rakhmonov was previously the M-1 Global Welterweight Champion.
As an 18 years old, Rakhmonov became the world champion, in amateur MMA, for WMMAA (World MMA Association) in 2013.

Rakhmonov was the first Kazakh fighter to sign a UFC contract. Woodley vs. Edward on Fight Night. Rakhmonov faced Neil Magny in the first fight of his new five-fight contract on June 25, 2022, at UFC on ESPN 38.
He won the fight in the second round with a guillotine choke submission. With this victory, he received the Performance of the Night bonus award.
