Sharon Horgan is best known for her work in the field of comedy, particularly her involvement in creating and starring in the TV series “Catastrophe.”
Horgan began her career as a writer and performer in the early 2000s. She co-wrote and starred in the British television series “Pulling” (2006-2009), which earned her critical acclaim and several awards.
In 2015, Horgan co-created and co-wrote the comedy series “Catastrophe” with American comedian Rob Delaney. “Catastrophe” ran for four seasons, concluding in 2019.
Besides “Catastrophe,” Horgan has worked on various other projects. She created and starred in the HBO comedy series “Divorce” (2016-2019), alongside Sarah Jessica Parker. Horgan has also acted in films such as “The Other Woman” (2014) and “Game Night” (2018).

She is a seven-time BAFTA TV Award nominee who won Best Comedy Writer for Catastrophe (with Rob Delaney) in 2016. Catastrophe was also nominated for Scripted Comedy at the 2020 BAFTA TV Awards, as well as Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series at the 2016 Primetime Emmy Awards.
In addition to her acting and writing, Horgan has produced several television shows through her production company, Merman. Some notable productions include “Motherland,” “This Way Up,” and “Women on the Verge.”
