Shane Yellowbird, a Cree-Canadian singer-songwriter from Hobbema, Alberta, died suddenly at the age of 42 on April 26, 2022. His family or any other official reports have not confirmed the cause of his death.

Shane Yellowbird, a Canadian country music singer, has had hits like “Bare Feet on the Blacktop” and “Pickup Truck” that have topped the Canadian charts. Yellowbird was named Aboriginal Entertainer of the Year at the 2007 Aboriginal People’s Choice Music Awards.
Yellowbird’s debut album Life Is Calling My Name, was released in 2006. In June 2007, he was chosen to represent his home country of Canada by performing at the CMA Music Festival’s Fourth Annual Global Artist Party.
He also performed on Emerson Drive’s cross-Canada tour, Yellowbird was named the Chevy Trucks Rising Star of the Year at the 2007 Canadian Country Music Awards.
