In the aftermath of Shane Warne’s untimely death, Victoria Prime Minister Daniel Andrews has promised the cricketing icon’s family a state funeral.

Warne, 52, died on Friday of a suspected heart attack while vacationing in Koh Samui, Thailand.
The Australian legend’s management released a statement explaining that medical staff had been unable to revive Warne after he was found unresponsive in his villa.
Mr Andrews said the state funeral would be an opportunity for Victorians to pay tribute to Warne’s contribution to cricket, the state and the country
The state funeral will take place in Melbourne, with a date to be determined after consultation with the Warne family, Cricket Australia, and the Victorian Government ‘to ensure it honours Shane’s death and memories.
Martin Pakula, the Victorian Sports Minister, has also announced that the Great Southern Stand at the MCG will be renamed the S.K. Warne Stand.
I've spoken with the Warne family again today and they have accepted my offer of a State Funeral to remember Shane.
It will be an opportunity for Victorians to pay tribute to his contribution to his sport, to our state and the country.
