Shane Reed Children: Did Shane Reed Have Kids?

Shane Reed was a triathlete and aquathlete from New Zealand. Reed was the father of two children.

Reed took part in his first triathlon when he was 21 years old. In 2004, he finished seventh in the ITU World Triathlon Championships in Madeira, Portugal.

In addition, he finished eleventh at the 2005 ITU World Triathlon Championships in Gamagori, Japan.  Reed won gold medals at the ITU Aquathlon World Championships in 1998, 1999, and 2004.

Shane Reed died of brain cancer at the age of 49 on 30 October 2022. Shane Reed was diagnosed with a brain tumour in April.

“This devastating news has shattered the Triathlon and Multisport community,” World Triathlon said in a statement.

“Shane, a quiet achiever, has had multiple sporting achievements to his name over the years including representing New Zealand at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, claiming many ITU (as World Triathlon was formerly known) World Cup medals and earning three World Aquathlon titles.
