Heavy rainfall on the morning of May 1, 2024, resulted in the flooding of seven Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) substations across various parts of the Greater Accra Region.

According to ECG sources, these substations require thorough drying before they can safely resume electricity supply to affected areas. The flooding poses potential risks to power distribution in the region.

In response, ECG has deployed overnight teams to address the issue and ensure minimal disruption to power supply. The affected substations include Achimota, Dzorwolo, Burma Camp L, ACBD E, High Street AH, La Trade Fair AJ, and Station H basement.
These substations are vital for supplying electricity to both residential and commercial areas within the Greater Accra Region.
