About Semisi Paea

Semisi Paea made his debut for Tonga in 2021 against the Cook Islands, and has since represented the country in four rugby matches, including the 2022 World Rugby Pacific Nations Cup.

In 2023, Paea got signed with the New England Free Jacks, for the 2023 Major League Rugby season, and has so far made 13 appearances and scored 5 points for the club.

The Tofoa native additionally plays as a lock and flanker for the New Zealand club Bay of Plenty.

Paea’s early career days saw him play rugby in high school and at youth level with Ngongotaha Rugby Club.

He began playing for Bay of Plenty in 2021, during the Bunnings NPC, and was selected for the New Zealand Barbarians at the end of the season.

So far, he has played in 8 games, and scored 5 points for Bay of Plenty.
