Selma Archerd, a famous Hollywood actress and wife of Variety columnist Army Archerd, passed away at the age of 98 on December 14 in Los Angeles. She was known for her roles in various movies and TV shows from the 1970s to the 1990s.

In 1988, she played a hostage in “Die Hard” and had a recurring role as Nurse Amy in the 1990s soap “Melrose Place.” Selma appeared in several films, including “Fun with Dick and Jane,” “Americathon,” “Can’t Stop the Music,” “Mommie Dearest,” and “Scrooged.” She also made TV appearances in shows like “Charmed,” “Roseanne,” “The Love Boat,” and others.
Selma and Army Archerd were active in the Hollywood social scene for many years, attending premieres, award shows, and charity dinners during their 39-year marriage. Army Archerd, known for his “Just For Variety” column in Daily Variety, passed away in 2009.
Selma Archerd is survived by her two sons, James Rosenblum and Richard Rosenblum, and a grandson, Ryan Rosenblum. The family has requested that donations in Selma Archerd’s memory be made to the Exceptional Children’s Foundation in Culver City, California.
