Sean Longstaff, an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Premier League team Newcastle United, was born on October 30, 1997.

Longstaff started his professional career with Newcastle United’s youth squad. Along with Callum Roberts and Freddie Woodman, he transferred on loan to Scottish Premiership team Kilmarnock in January 2017.

He agreed to a loan in July 2017 with Blackpool. In a 2-0 victory over Burnley on February 26, 2019, Longstaff scored his first Premier League goal for Newcastle.

After suffering a knee ligament injury in March 2019, Longstaff was declared out for the remainder of the 2018–19 campaign. In the second leg of the EFL Cup semi-final against Southampton on January 31, 2023, he notched a brace to help his team advance to their first final since 1999.
