Sean Couturier, a professional ice hockey player with the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League (NHL), was born in America on December 7, 1992. He was chosen by the Flyers eighth overall in the first round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

Following his stint with the Hounds, Couturier was chosen by the Drummondville Voltigeurs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) as the second overall pick in the 2008 QMJHL Entry Draft. At the age of 15, Couturier started playing junior hockey with Drummondville.
