Sauti Sol is a Kenyan afro-pop band formed in Nairobi, Kenya by Bien-Aime Baraza, Willis Chimano and Savara Mudigi in 2005. Then Polycarp Otieno joined before they named themselves Sauti.

The band was formed in 2005 as an acapella group these three individuals who met at the Upper Hill High School and performed in Voices in the Light, a music group in the school.
The four-member group all completed their university education in Kenya. Baraza studied journalism at the United States International University, Savara studied Finance and commerce at Africa Nazarene University and Chimano studied journalism at the University of Nairobi, on the other hand, Oteino also studied actuarial science at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.

Sauti Sol released their first album in November 2008, titled Mwanzo. Their second studio album followed in February 2011 titled Sol Filosofia. The band has since then performed on great platforms in Kenya and across the world.
