A Singaporean named Saridewi Djamani received a death sentence in 2018 for importing 1 kg of drugs that contained 30.72g of heroin. On June 17, 2016, Saridewi—who had committed the crime—and her accomplice were both apprehended in Anchorvale Road, Sengkang.

After Yen May Woen in March 2004, Saridewi was apparently the first woman set to be hanged in Singapore in nearly 20 years. International criticism and clemency requests were directed at the Singaporean government as the day of Saridewi’s execution drew near.
The CNB verified that Saridewi’s execution had taken place on time. They claimed that Saridewi received complete due process and disclosed that she was unsuccessful in her request for a presidential pardon prior to her execution.
