The New Zealand rugby union player, Whitelock plays for the Crusaders in Super Rugby and Canterbury in the Mitre 10 Cup as a lock.
Whitelock commenced his professional rugby career in 2008 when he made his debut for Canterbury. He then made his debut in 2010 for the Crusaders in Super Rugby and continued to represent both sides.

As part of his terrific career in New Zealand, he had a brief spell with the Panasonic Wild Knights in Japan in 2020.

Besides playing domestically, Whitelock has captained the All Blacks and was part of the teams that won the World Cup in 2011 and 2015. He is the most-capped All Blacks lock of all time, having played 146 matches since his debut in 2010. He also has played 180 Super Rugby matches for the Crusaders. He became the eighth Test centurion in 2018.
The second row double world champion with New Zealand, Whitelock has signed a two-year contract with Pau, which he will join after the 2023 Rugby World Cup.
Whitelock was among the World championship-winning team, the Baby All Blacks at the 2008 IRB Junior World Championship.
