Whitelock is set to depart New Zealand shores, having signed a two-year deal with French club Pau.
The 6-foot-8 player has played 180 games for the Crusaders since debuting for the team in 2010, while he has also played 146 Tests for New Zealand. Whitelock was part of the teams that won the World Cup in 2011 and 2015 and became the eighth Test centurion in 2018.
Whitelock was named the New Zealand Rugby Player of the Year in 2017.
