Samuel Timothy Coonrod is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies of Major League Baseball. He previously played for the San Francisco Giants. Coonrod was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and raised in Carrollton, Illinois.

Coonrod married his girlfriend Kara Kimball on November 24, 2017, in Fenton, Missouri. He continues to lift weights and practice pitching during the offseason by using the gymnasium at St. John’s Elementary School in Carrollton
On June 6, 2014, the San Francisco Giants selected Coonrod in the fifth round, 148th overall, of the 2014 MLB Draft. He was assigned to the Rookie Arizona League Giants, pitching in 15 games and starting in five, and earning his first professional win against the Arizona League Rangers. He recorded a 1–0 record in 2014, with a 3.90 ERA and 25 strikeouts in 27+2⁄3 innings.
