The younger brother of Chiefs prop Atunaisa Moli, Samuela is a graduate of Marlborough Boys’ College in New Zealand and comes from a family with a strong rugby heritage.

The 2012 season saw Lousi compete for the Auckland Vulcans in the NSW Cup before making his National Rugby League debut in round 20 as a last-minute replacement.
He committed to the Waratahs ahead of the 2015 season, but his Super Rugby season was cut short by a shoulder injury after he had earned four caps.In the National Rugby Championship for the 2015 campaign, he joined the New South Wales Country Eagles squad.

The Sydney club Southern Districts welcomed him in 2016. On a two-year contract, the lock joined the Super Rugby team in July 2016 after being signed by the Hurricanes and Wellington.
