Reid gained recognition for his roles in various films and television series. He is best known for his roles in Lambs of God (2019) and The Newsreader (2021-present), for which he received two AACTA Award nominations for Best Lead Actor in a Television Drama, and for his critical acclaim as Lestat de Lioncourt in Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire (2022-present).

Some of his notable film credits include “Anonymous” (2011), where he portrayed the role of Robert Devereux, 2nd Earl of Essex, and “Belle” (2013), in which he played the character John Davinier. He also appeared in “The Railway Man” (2013), starring alongside Colin Firth and Nicole Kidman.
