Late drag race driver Sam Fenech left behind three children, which were born to him by his wife, Natalie.

Who Was Sam Fenech?

Sam Fenech was a professional drag racing driver who died from a fatal crash at a racing event, on January 7, 2023.

Fenech had travelled from New South Wales to participate in the New Year Nitro event at Willowbank Raceway where the crash occurred.

His car had reportedly skidded off the track and crashed. Fenech had sustained serious injuries, and despite the prompt medical attention, he didn’t survive.

Reports also reveal that a camera operator was also injured during the accident, but was taken to Brisbane’s Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment.

Willowbank Raceway had released a statement, confirming the death of the race car driver.

“It is with great sadness that Top Fuel Racing Australia announces that Sam Fenech, driver of the Fabietti Racing Doorslammer, has succumbed to injuries suffered in a racing accident at Willowbank Raceway and passed away this evening,” the statement read.

Queensland Police cordoned the area and began investigations immediately.
