Born on April 23, 1980, in Hitchin, United Kingdom, Bretton also appeared as Martha Lloyd in the BBC 1 crime drama Death in Paradise, both in the original and in the spin off series, Beyond Paradise.

Bretton grew up in Hertfordshire.
