Ryuchell partner: Who is Peco?

Ryuji Higa, better known as Ryuchell, was a Japanese television and social media personality, model, performer, and campaigner.

Ryuchell, known for his androgynous and colorful attire, was a significant player in Japan’s genderless fashion subculture.

Ryuchell eventually rose to prominence as an LGBT character in mainstream Japanese media, making regular appearances on variety shows and at LGBT-themed events in Japan.

Ryuchell was discovered unconscious in the offices of a talent agency in Shibuya’s Sasazuka area on July 12, 2023. He was pronounced dead shortly afterward.

Ryuchell married model and fellow Japanese social media star Peco on December 31, 2016. In July 2018, he announced the birth of his son, Link, named after Hairspray’s Link Larkin.

Ryuchell stated on Instagram on August 25, 2022, that he no longer identified as male, an identity he thought had been a hardship throughout their marriage to Peco.

Ryuchell claimed that he would prefer to be referred to be Peco’s “life partner” and “parent” instead.
