Ryan Varnes is a racer who carries on the flat track racing legacy of his father Kelvin and grandfather Jim. He began racing when he was five years old and saw it from the beginning.

He became a professional in 2014 at the age of 16, and in 2015, and 2016, he own the Parts Unlimited AFT Singles.

In the American Flat Track race at Weedsport, Varnes was completing six minutes plus two laps when a crash took place on lap 4. He was given prompt medical attention to his wounds at the track before being transferred to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse for additional care and assessment.
