Ryan Donato is the son of Ted Donato and Jeannine Donato. Ryan followed in the footsteps of his father, Ted Donato, a former NHL player turned head coach.

His father Ted Donato’s journey in the National Hockey League (NHL) began when he was selected 98th overall in the 1987 NHL Entry Draft by the Boston Bruins.

Throughout his career, he played 796 NHL games, amassing an impressive record of 150 goals and 197 assists for a total of 347 points.

Following his retirement from professional hockey, Ted Donato transitioned to coaching, ultimately taking on the role of head coach at Harvard University.

As a coach, he’s not only imparted his knowledge of the game but also fostered the growth and development of young, aspiring players.

Ryan’s mother Jeannine Donato, in addition to being a dedicated hockey wife and mom, is a neurology nurse who has made significant contributions to the field of health, particularly in the context of sports-related injuries.

In partnership with ImPACT Applications, Inc., Jeannine founded “A Head of the Game for Concussion Testing.”

This initiative, driven by her dedication to safeguarding athletes from the risks of head injuries, has been instrumental in conducting baseline testing for over a decade.
