Russell “Block” Spencer was born on the 1st of March 1979, in Atlanta, Georgia, the United States of America. His mother is an African while his father was an American. He is of American nationality and belongs to the African-American ethnicity.
Russell “Block” Spencer began his musical career as a producer and company manager in the R&B genre. He started to work for record companies like Suave House Record and ShoNuff Records in his early days.

By 1997, Russell “Block” Spencer had risen to the position of the president of Suave House Records located in Houston. He has been working in the entertainment industry since the middle of 1995. Russell Spencer has collaborated with Sean “Diddy” Combs, The Urban Wrestling Federation, and Warner Music Group.
In 2005, Russell “Block” Spencer founded his own record label Block Entertainment alongside his partner Andrew “Gotti” Couser in Atlanta, Georgia. In 2011, Gorilla Zoe’s album King Kong was released on Russell Spencer’s record label.
Since November 2009, Russel’s record label Block Entertainment has been running in joint collaboration with Capitol Records. Russell “Block” Spencer has been helpful in promoting artists like Jody Breeze and Ciara in recording their first studio albums.
Russell “Block” Spencer is the father of a daughter, Riley Burrus who was born on the 22nd of August 2002 in Georgia Atlanta. He shares his child Riley with renowned singer and songwriter Kandi Burruss.
