Ruby Jean Seals is the wife of Jim Seals of the 1970s soft rock duo Seals & Crofts who passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at the age of 80.

Ruby Jean Seals was born Ruby Jean Anderson.

Ruby and Jim Seals got married in 1970 and they have three children, Joshua, Juliette, and Sutherland; all three are musicians.

Much is not known about Jim Seals’ wife as she preferred to stay out of the spotlight.

However, her  husband Jim was born in Sidney, Texas in 1941 and he was a one-time member of The Champs but joined after their hit ‘Tequila’, also featuring Glen Campbell.

Jim toured with Eddie Cochran before Campbell formed Glen Campbell and the GCs with Seals and Crofts both part of the band.

Their first album with their new label did not break into the charts, but their second album, Summer Breeze, charted at #7 in 1972. It sold over a million copies.

The breakthrough for Seals & Crofts came with their second album ‘Summer Breeze’. The title track ‘Summer Breeze’ reached number 6 in the US and number 16 in Australia, in 1972.

Though the duo disbanded in 1980, they reunited briefly in 1991–1992, and again in 2004, when they released their final album, Traces.

Jim has long been a public advocate of the Bahá’í Faith and he is the brother of “England” Dan Seals, of England Dan & John Ford Coley.
