Nick was born on January 13, 1934 in Maysville, Kentucky, United States to Andrew Joseph Clooney and Marie Frances Guilfoyle.
Clooney had an eight-year stint (1958-1966) at WKYT-TV in Lexington, Kentucky,[3] then went to Ohio to host his TV show, The Nick Clooney Show, first in Columbus, Ohio, for WLWC television in 1968, then for Cincinnati’s WCPO-TV in 1969, and WKRC-TV through the early 1970s.
He also worked for ABC, KNBC, KSTU and WGRZ-TV.
From 1994 to 1999, he was the on-air host for AMC (American Movie Classics).
As an actor and writer, he is known for The Monuments Men (2014), AMC’s Behind the Screen with Nick Clooney (1998) and Rebound: A Basketball Story (2009).
In 2021, Nick Clooney joined the Sons of the American Revolution
Nick Clooney has been married to Nina Clooney since November 30, 1959, and together they share two children, actor George Clooney and Adelia (Ada) Clooney.

Betty Clooney was an American singer and TV presenter.
She was born on April 12, 1931 in Maysville, Kentucky, United States to Andrew Joseph Clooney and Marie Frances Guilfoyle.
Betty briefly rose to fame in the 1950s with her sister Rosemary Clooney. She pursued a brief solo career, with songs such as “Kiki” and “You’re All I See”.
In 1952, Clooney became the mistress of ceremonies of a new program, Goin’ Steady, on WXYZ-TV in Detroit. She was a regular on three CBS television programs in the 1950s: The Morning Show, hosted by Jack Paar, Fridays weekly (1953–1954); Good Morning! with Will Rogers, Jr., Mondays – Fridays (1954–1955) and The Robert Q. Lewis Show, Mondays – Fridays (1955–1956).
Betty was married to actor and musician Pupi Campo and they had four children; Carlos Alejandro, Cathi Ann, Cristina Maria and Rosemary Cari.
Betty Clooney died on August 5, 1976, in Las Vegas, Nevada from a brain aneurysm.
When Betty died of a brain aneurysm at age 45, Rosemary spearheaded a living memorial to her sister with the Betty Clooney Center in Long Beach, California, for brain-injured young adults.
