Nadine Inscoe was the first wife of Ronnie Van Zant an American singer, best known as the original lead vocalist, primary lyricist and founding member of the southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Van Zant married Nadine Inscoe on January 2, 1967. Around this time, Van Zant also worked at his brother-in-law’s auto parts store, Morris Auto Parts in Jacksonville.
The couple had a daughter, Tammy, before divorcing in 1969; Tammy would become a musician.

Tammy released her single, ‘Freebird Child‘ in 2009, and the release was followed by her 2014 debut studio record of the same name, which was dedicated to her father’s memory.
Her other track, ‘Surviving On A Wing and A Prayer’ was dedicated to all the women who had struggled with hardships.
Ronnie Van Zant died tragically in a plane crash on October 20, 1977. The cause of the crash was a mechanical failure, but the exact cause of Van Zant’s death was due to blunt force trauma to the head and chest.
