Ronnie Van Zant Children: Meet Melody Van Zant, Tammy Van Zant

Ronnie Van Zant is an American singer, best known as the original lead vocalist, primary lyricist and founding member of the southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Ronnie Van Zant was the father of two children. He had his first daughter Tammy Van Zant with his first wife Nadine Insoe. His second daughter Melody Van Zant was from his second marriage to Judy Seymour.

Ronnie Van Zant’s first daughter Tammy Vant Zant became a musician just like her father. Tammy released her single, ‘Freebird Child‘ in 2009, and the release was followed by her 2014 debut studio record of the same name, which was dedicated to her father’s memory.

Tammy’s music was inspired by real-life tragedies, and her songs reflected her pain. Her website later announced that she was working on a memoir, with the same title as her debut album. Unfortunately, things did not go as planned, and she died young.

Tammy Michelle Van Zant died on July 11, 2010, at the age of 54, according to a Facebook post.

Ronnie Van Zant’s second daughter Melody is the manager of the Freebird Cafe in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. She is married to guitarist Jasin Todd since 2004.
