Ron Peno was an Australian rock singer and songwriter who fronted Died Pretty from 1983 to 2002. Ron Peno and his wife Charity had a son Zebadiah.

Additional information about their son Zebadiah is unavailable. Ron Peno died from cancer on 11 August 2023. He passed away in the presence of his wife Charity and his son Zebadiah, at his home in South Yarra, Melbourne. He was 68 years old.
Peno was diagnosed with esophageal cancer on February 14, 2019, and all planned Died Pretty gigs were cancelled as he received medical treatment.

Peno successfully completed treatment in August 2019, and the malignancy in his oesophagus was surgically removed. Medical personnel were certain that all of the cancer had been removed from his body.

Radio host Karen Leng posted a tribute: “Many times I have lost myself in Ron’s magnificent voice. His LP’s with Died Pretty are emotion stirring evocative widescreen adventures. I love them dearly, a great loss.”
In addition to fronting Died Pretty from 1983 to 2002, he was a part of the punk band The Hellcats (1976-77), hard rock band The 31st (in Brisbane, 1979-81) and Screaming Tribesmen (1981).
Peno later founded the alt-country group The Darling Downs with Kim Salmon, and then his own band, Ron S. Peno & The Superstitions, after migrating to Melbourne.
