Faber started his career in the entertainment industry at a radio station on a children’s show while he was in college. He directed a show monitored by Eva Le Gallienne when he joined the Marquette Players and later the Van Buren Players.

La Gallienne gave him a scholarship to direct at the Lucille Lortel White Barn Theatre due to his outstanding performance exhibited previously; and that’s how his professional career began.

He appeared in a Broadway Production dubbed First Monday in October, Medea, and more in the 1970s. He starred alongside actors like Irene Papas and Henry Fonda.
