Roel Ragay Degamo was a Filipino politician who served as governor of the Negros Oriental province from 2011 until his assassination in 2023.

Roel Degamo was shot several times and killed after he was ambushed at his home in Pamplona, Negros Oriental, on March 4, 2023, at approximately 9:36 a.m. by unidentified men.
Roel Degamo was rushed to Dumaguete’s Silliman University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 11:41 a.m., according to his wife, Pamplona Mayor Janice Degamo.

Roel Degamo was born in the municipality of Siaton, Negros Oriental, in the town of Bonawon. He graduated from St. Louis School – Don Bosco in Dumaguete and attended Silliman University, where he majored in Mechanical Engineering.
Roel Degamo served as governor of the Negros Oriental province from 2011 until 2023.
He was removed from office as a result of the results of the May 2022 local elections, but with his opponent’s victory annulled, he was proclaimed as the elected gubernatorial candidate in October of the same year.
